Everyone knows the old adage, if you want to refresh your bedroom quickly and easily, swap out the throw pillows.
I agree. Absolutely. Butttttttt….could there be another way that doesn’t feel so done? I think so.
We all know lamps are $$$. So, let me reacquaint you with your lampshade. Hey there lampshades, I see you. Hanging out in the corner, on a table, minding your business working hard every day but somehow get overlooked with your blasé white cover. I think you can give more than you are currently.
Did you know there are so many different options than that white drum shade your lamp came home from the store with? Colors, materials, textures, prints, shapes, fabric treatments…SO MANY OPTIONS and not necessarily that much more than new pillows (those ladies can add up). If your room is in need of a refresh, try changing out the lampshades instead.

This is my bedside lamp. Cute right? I love the plaster texture and scalloped edge, but I’m still sporting the white drum shade that was shipped with it. But look how big of a difference a new lampshade would make on my own bedside table:

Dramatic, no? As I said there are so many options that even if you were to change the shape and keep the same color, your space would feel rejuvenated.
I want to share a few of my favorites I’ve been eyeing and where to find some great shade options:

1.etsy | 2. urban outfitters | 3. lamps plus | 4. pooky | 5. anthropologie | 6. liberty london | 7. anthropologie | 8. etsy | 9. urban outfitters
I highly recommend to jump down the etsy rabbit hole. There are some incredible finds there and the vendors often give far more options for harp hook ups, sizes, colors, etc.
What do you think? Have I turned you on to interesting lamp shades?
quick tip: Finding plain bases on offerup, marketplace, etc. is simple enough. Imagine how cool a $10 lamp could look with a shade-lift.
Until I babble again,
Carli
