hey there, I'm Carli
a lover of interior design, slow weekend mornings, and the radical idea that your bedroom deserves as much attention as every other room in your home — actually, definitely more.
Here’s what I’ve noticed: most of us have upgraded everywhere in the house except the bedroom. The kitchen gets the renovation. The living room gets the new sofa. And the bedroom? It gets a leftover rug, hand-me-down mattress, and the ‘just for now’ nightstands that don’t really match your vibe.
BABBLE is my challenge to myself to change that — and an invitation for you to do the same.
To be clear, when I say upgrade, I don’t just mean the furniture, the walls or the floors (though I absolutely believe in the power of an expressive interior). I mean all of it. Your pajama drawer, your nightly wellness routine and that lamp that’s been nagging at you for three years. I want to better the entire ritual that makes entering your bedroom in the evening and waking up in the morning the best part of your day.
We spend a third of our lives asleep. Add in the hours we spend reading, scrolling, stretching, getting ready, doing nothing — and the bedroom might just be the most lived-in room in the house. So why are we treating it like an afterthought?
Tuck in, because we’ve got a lot to talk about.
Now living in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho I’m definitely in a different place than I planned. But here we are, and honestly, I wouldn’t change it.
Growing up in Santa Fe, New Mexico I fell in love with color, texture and the rich creative community that surrounded me. Then came Portland, Oregon — lush, inspiring, always moving — where I started my career in apparel and fell even deeper in love with the way color and material can make or break an outfit or collection. From there, interiors got its hold on me and I’ve never looked back. I can pour over a shelter magazine any day of the week, gathering inspiration from a living room detail, a bathroom tile, a bonus room moment — and immediately start thinking about how to bring it into a bedroom.
Then my beautiful little ladies arrived. And just like that, my bedroom became the last thing on the list.
Busy days working, mom-ing, and wife-ing, the budget and time went into the shared spaces. My sanctuary quietly became a landing pad — hand-me-down furniture, college sweats as pajamas, and a get-ready-for-bed routine that was, let’s say, minimal at best (that my skin was definitely paying for).
Then, during a 3am feeding it hit me — ‘What the frick am I doing? This is supposed to be my place. My space to feel and be beautiful. To feel absolutely myself. The space where my hubs and I come at the end of the day to be people. Adults. Human beings. Why the heck should I apologize for prioritizing this space and how I function within it?
Hence, BABBLE.
Now, I want to share my love of bedrooms, bedtimes, loungewear, etcetera with you — and I hope we can both keep each other accountable. To make sure that our bedrooms aren’t just a landing pad, not to create a performative aesthetic for instagram, but to create a space which allows us to be the best versions of ourselves. A space where the way we start and end our day is genuinely and intentionally, the best experience it can be.
So glad you’re here friend — Carli
