BABBLE has been a nugget in my brain for years now. This post has been circulating in there since the very beginning. And I mean that. Because I went back to my Canva board of ideas, this post was patiently waiting. Waiting for its day to come. Which makes it all the more special because I think the inspiration images you’ll see below are a testament to the fact that great design does not fade. Something you loved two years ago doesn’t need a refresh if it was great to start with.
Can we talk about reading nooks and spaces in bedrooms? A chair in a bedroom is basically a necessity. But throw a side table and a lamp into the mix and suddenly you have a luxurious reading nook. Which feels absolutely grown up, sophisticated and intentional.
Today is all about inspiration. Let’s talk about all the ways you can create a reading nook of your own. The basic formula is simple: a comfortable seat, one light source and a surface for your water glass and your book. Everything else is personal.
Whether you need a place to spread out, want somewhere to creatively incorporate textures and prints, or you’re tight on space. There’s an option for ya, let me elaborate.

Clean, simple and to the point, add in a single chair to create a comfy perch for reading or scrolling. Personally, I’d opt for an upholstered option to keep yourself reading for longer than five minutes.

Throwing my feet up is a must for me to relax and unwind comfortably in a chair.
While most of these ottomans match the chair, I am week in the knees over the mismatched combo from YOND Interiors…and obviously a fan of all of their chair and ottoman selections!

Oof. There is something so sumptuous about a chaise lounge. Using a chaise lounge in your nook screams luxurious grown up to me.
Bonus for the mamas: it can double as a designated bed for the kiddos so they aren’t tempted to crawl in with you in the middle of the night…
